HR Training Specialist
Job ID:26220
Washington, District Of Columbia

Bringing Solutions That Make Business Better

We are seeking an HR Training Specialist to be part of a creative, forward-thinking team. Our success at deploying skilled, highly knowledgeable experts has landed us on the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing companies four times – and we’re just getting started.

As the HR Training Specialist, you will assess existing HR skillsets and training needs of each HR function and provide recommendations for improvement. You will research and identify existing internal HR websites and knowledge portals that outline required training and provide remote access training courses, career guides, and knowledge management platforms. You will also gather current cost data on how much is spent to maintain individual websites and portals and assess possible cost savings through centralization. Additionally, you will:

  • Conduct self-assessment surveys followed by focus groups within the HR community to gauge how well HR practitioners understand their roles and if they know how or where to access materials and training to perform their roles competently
  • Use surveys and focus groups to ask employees to self-identify any skills they need training in
  • Identify current HR training and knowledge resource gaps within the Department
  • Solicit input from managers on areas they feel staff need development
  • Collect centralized training, knowledge management, and community of practice website models from other agencies and assess if similar platforms can be applied or adapted for use amongst the department’s HR community

What You’ll Need to be Successful:

  • At least 10 years of relevant human resources experience; human resources training experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree; master’s degree strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Department of State training for HR professionals
  • Experience conducting surveys to gather data
  • US citizenship and an active final Secret Level clearance
