As the Principal Programmer - Clinical Programming, you will support, guide, and make a major contribution to the planning and execution of multiple programming activities for clinical trials. You will create, verify, and document analyses of clinical data while adhering to study protocols, analysis plans, and industry standards. You will also act as a subject matter expert and work as a guide within your own discipline to investigate new technology as directed. Additionally, you will:

  • Provide technical contribution to complex tasks
  • Ensure the collection of programs/outputs and issues are adequately managed for programming activities to achieve business outcomes
  • Apply learning from previous activities to result in quicker and more efficient completion of the current task
  • Share learnings with peers and contribute to internal technical discussions/forums
  • Initiate new directions and novel strategies to achieve department goals

What You’ll Need to be Successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in mathematics, statistics, data science, computer science, or related discipline
  • Recognized expertise in SAS programming and SAS macro code development
  • Understanding of other SAS products (SAS/GRAPH, SAS Output Delivery System)
  • Thorough understanding of the end-to-end clinical trial process
  • Solid understanding of the pharmaceutical regulatory and publishing processes (21 CFR Part 11)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in the application of CDISC data and standards, primarily the creation and use of ADaM datasets

Great Additional Skills:

  • Experience with non-SAS programming packages/languages, particularly R and Python
  • Project management or relevant experience
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
