As the Cisco Telecom Systems Engineer, you will ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the information systems by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked software and associated operating systems. You will help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems. You will also participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure and ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values. Additionally, you will:

  • Be responsible for both Architecture and Engineering management processes within Infrastructure and Operations
  • Provide level three support for both infrastructure administration and technical support, in restoring service and resolving incidents, and in IT service performance and capacity management
  • Assist project teams with technical issues in the initiation and planning phases of our standard project management methodology
  • Participate in projects focused on smoothing the transition from development staff to production staff by performing operations activities within the project life-cycle

What You’ll Need to be Successful:

  • At least 2 years of IT experience and a Master’s degree OR 4 years of IT experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR 6 years of IT experience and an Associate’s degree OR 8 years of IT experience
  • Knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications (CUCM, CUIC, CUBE, SME) and Jabber
  • Good knowledge of logging and database tables to gather information required to resolve problem
  • Understanding of phone system administration, inbound contact center call flows, and outbound dialer functions to identify and resolve any issues related to them
  • Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of information
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally
  • Proficiency with Windows-style applications and various software packages specific to role and keyboard
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency working with databases, on-line solutions, and programming languages
  • Analytical skills and logical thought processes in order to formulate solutions to problems
  • Ability to work under stressful situations so that communications with users, IS staff, and vendors continue to be objective and professional at all times
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and frequent changes in priorities
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and extended shifts
