As the HR Specialist, you will be responsible for the full life-cycle talent acquisition/retention process and provide organization level administrative support. You will partner with department managers to determine staffing needs and participate in job fairs and host in-house recruitment events. You will also conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation. Additionally, you will:

  • Maintain and update job descriptions
  • Coordinate college recruiting initiatives
  • Maintain working relationships with colleges to aid in recruiting candidates
  • Manage the use of recruiters and headhunters
  • Track applicant status throughout the talent acquisition process
  • Conduct prescreening interviews
  • Recommend candidates for in-person interviews
  • Coordinate interviews with department managers
  • Perform reference and background checks for potential employees
  • Draft Offer Letters and Employment Agreements
  • Inform applicants not chosen of company's decision
  • Conduct end of term co-op exit surveys/interviews
  • Research and recommend employee benefits 
  • Manage employee benefits
  • Maintain Employee Handbook
  • Answer and direct phone calls
  • Greet and assist office visitors
  • Maintain company phone list 
  • Order office supplies and maintain office equipment

What You’ll Need to be Successful:

  • HR/Recruiting experience
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • General knowledge of various employment laws and practices
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with various departments and foster teamwork
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of human resources work
  • Ability to travel locally for recruitment events and maintain a flexible work schedule
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to identify, prioritize, and manage assignments autonomously
