As the Business Systems Analyst, you will analyze business and user needs, document requirements, and design the functional specifications for systems and reports. You will formulate and define systems scope and objectives through research and fact- finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. You will also gather and write requirements and design specifications for large or moderately complex systems. Additionally, you will:

  • Analyze issues with requirements and design
  • Help to define interaction of data with other systems/databases
  • Work with developers, QA testers, validation team members, and managers to create and analyze various other required project documentation
  • Provide guidance to associate level Business System Analyst staff in
    requirement gathering projects
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in related technologies and share knowledge with team members

What You’ll Need to be Successful:

  • At least 2 years of experience working in a software development environment, directly involved in requirement gathering, and a Bachelor's degree OR equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Good understanding of system development life cycle and requirements methodology
  • Good understanding of requirement gathering methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile, Spiral, JAD sessions, as well as best practices
  • Ability to write use cases
  • Good understanding of different requirement types such as business, user, functional, and non-functional
  • Ability to write specifications for moderately complex systems
  • Good MS Office skills
  • Ability to estimate level of effort for small to medium-sized projects
  • Good business skills including documentation, presentation, interpersonal, and communication
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to interact with relational databases at an intermediate level
