Bringing Solutions That Make Business Better

We are seeking an Oracle Database Administrator to be part of a creative, forward-thinking team. Our success at deploying skilled, highly knowledgeable experts has landed us on the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing companies four times – and we’re just getting started.

As the Oracle Database Administrator, you will manage all aspects of a multi-platform Oracle database environment. You will establish the company’s strategic direction for the Oracle database system across the enterprise, including the approach the company takes with respect to Oracle database design and administration on all Oracle platforms including Solaris, Linux, Oracle Enterprise Linux, Microsoft Windows Server, and Oracle SuperCluster. You will also coordinate and manage external resources from Oracle Corporation and other strategic partners when such resources are required to supplement in-house staff. Additionally, you will:

  • Design disaster recovery strategies specific to the Oracle environment and participation and database leadership during annual disaster recovery exercises
  • Performance tune and troubleshoot, particularly when such efforts require advanced knowledge of the Oracle database environment
  • Consult and advise Systems Architecture teams on database security, relational design, query optimization, performance, and database policies and standardization
  • Participate in standard compliance tasks, with an eye towards simplification and automation of such efforts
  • Perform standard database administration tasks in production and non-production Oracle environments including creation/decommission of database instances, schema management, database imports/exports, backups/restores, performance profiling, troubleshooting, and authorship/maintenance of stored procedures

What You’ll Need to be Successful:

  • At least 10 years of experience as a Senior Database Administrator or above, including with current versions of the Oracle RDBMS
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline preferred, or 12 years of equivalent experience
  • Experience managing Oracle’s high availability options such as RAC, ASM, and Grid Infrastructure (Clusterware)
  • Hands-on experience with all common Oracle database management tasks and tools
  • Hands-on experience with operating systems hosting the company’s Oracle installations including Linux, Oracle Enterprise Linux, Solaris, and Windows Server, and experience with the corresponding scripting tools such as shell scripting and PowerShell
  • Knowledge of Oracle Directory Services and Oracle Database Vault
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, triggers, and the principles of relational database design and related database constructs such as referential integrity constraints
  • The ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with colleagues in technical and management roles

Great Additional Skills:

  • Oracle Engineered Systems experience (Exadata and SuperCluster computing platforms)
