We are seeking a Senior Business Development Director, Digital & Partnership Transactions to be part of a creative, forward-thinking team. As the Senior Business Development Director, Digital & Partnership Transactions, you will be responsible for all types of business development (acquisition, licensing, and alliance management) in Digital. You will build and maintain strong working industry knowledge in consumer tech and drive strategic thinking to develop and deliver on the art of the possible in partnership transactions. You will also partner with External Innovation to identify opportunities in target technologies, brands, and companies within Digital Innovation. Additionally, you will:

  • Develop approach strategies, initiate and develop external stakeholder contacts, and execute cross functional due diligence
  • Use strong quantitative skills and sound business judgement based on industry landscape expertise and regional nuances to drive long term innovation growth and sustainable partnerships
  • Lead and coordinate the development of valuation models for partnering deals in Digital Innovation across all categories
  • Serve as the lead between Global BD and Corporate Development, Finance, Regional Commercial teams, and Category as it relates to the partnering opportunity
  • Lead productive working sessions and negotiations with external partners that deliver high quality transactions, long term growth, and sustainable partnerships
  • Lead the coordination and development of final business cases for transactions in Digital Innovation across all categories
  • Argue against deals that don’t drive strategy and profitability
  • Prepare high quality written document proposals and presentations for leadership that outline the business case, technical merits, key issues and risks, deal terms, and financials in Digital Innovation and secure C-suite alignment

What You’ll Need to be Successful:

  • At least 10 years of experience in corporate development, venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or product management in the technology industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field
  • A deal sheet that includes significant experience with technology-based transactions
  • Demonstrated capability with the following:
    • Agile and distributed decision-making using evidence and applying judgement to balance pace, rigor, and risk
    • Managing individual and team performance
    • Delivering high quality results, overcoming challenges, and focusing on what matters
    • Implementing change initiatives and leading change
    • Sustaining energy and well-being; building resilience in teams

    • Translating strategy into action by communicating a compelling narrative, motivating others, setting objectives, and delegation
    • Building strong relationships and collaboration; managing trusted stakeholder relationships internally and externally.
    • Budgeting and forecasting

Great Additional Skills:

  • Strong network and contacts across technology, including leading players (Google, Facebook, Apple), emerging startups (prefer consumer oriented), and/or top retailers (Walmart, CVS)
  • 10+ years structuring and leading transactions (valuation, stakeholder alignment, business case development, contracting) across transaction types (acquisitions, licensing, partnerships, distribution)
  • Experience with transactions or as a commercial lead for FDA regulated devices, software, and applications; consumer wellness applications and devices; and/or consumer subscription business models
  • Leadership experience at a large tech company or other MNC, with experience influencing across large matrixed teams
  • Experience developing strategy and influencing internally and externally at the C-suite level
