As the Information Systems Security Officer, you will act as the Information System Security Officer (ISSO). You will be responsible for the life cycle of information systems, to include meeting with program management to assist in developing requirements for information systems; creating the System Security Plans (SSP); reviewing the technical security features to ensure compliance with regulations; submitting for accreditation; and meeting with government security representatives. You will also maintain compliance with all applicable requirements, conducting weekly audits, briefings, and reviews of the System Security Plan as required. Additionally, you will:

  • Be responsible for all accredited information systems during annual audits, reviews, and inspections
  • Perform the duties of an alternate COMSEC custodian

What You’ll Need to be Successful:

  • At least 2 years of experience as an ISSO or ISSM
  • Bachelor's degree in computer information systems or computer science, or 4 years of experience in related technical subject area
  • US citizenship with a TS/SCI clearance and full-scope polygraph
  • In depth knowledge of the NISPOM Chapter 8, ICD 503, and NIST SP800-53 IS requirements
  • Strong experience accrediting and maintaining LAN/WAN Information Systems
  • In depth knowledge of WINDOWS, UNIX, LINUX or similar operating systems
  • Understanding of COMSEC and COMSEC related equipment
  • Supervisory and leadership experience
  • Experience developing and presenting briefings
  • Ability to develop and execute detailed project implementation plans
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills  
  • Commitment to excellence - creating and delivering the highest value to customers
  • Experience in USG accreditation process
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently  
  • Ability to build and enable highly effective teams, leveraging differences in skills, knowledge, and experience to maximize results
  • Resourcefulness in solving problem and capitalizing on opportunities
  • Professional certifications/affiliations (CISSP, Security+, CASP, CCNA)
  • Ability to travel periodically to other locations for 1 to 3 days at a time
  • DoD 8570 industry certification in one or more of the following: CISSP, Security+, CISA, GSEC, CAP, SCNA, SCNP, SSCP, GSLC, GSE, CISM
