As the Associate Linux Systems Administrator, you will maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers. You will set up administrator and service accounts, maintain system documentation, tune system performance, install system-wide software, and allocate mass storage space. You will also interact with users and evaluate vendor products. Additionally, you will:

  • Make recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinate installation, and provide backup recovery
  • Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources
  • Provide assistance to Senior Linux Administrators performing the following functions: Linux server deployment, optimization, application design/architecture, system upgrades, and patching
  • Assist Senior System Administrators with troubleshooting and diagnosing advanced Linux server issues, including reliability issues, performance concerns, and software bugs
  • Assist Senior System Administrators with performing DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG) on systems as necessary

What You’ll Need to be Successful:

  • No professional experience is required, but the selected candidate must have internships and/or project experience related to some of the following: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Linux administration, Automation tools (Chef, Puppet or Ansible), UNIX shell scripting
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
  • US citizenship and an Interim Secret clearance to start
  • Ability to obtain a DOD 8570 IA Level II Certification (i.e.  Security+ CE) within 90 days of start date
